We are committed to being a socially and environmentally responsible company, and we know that our actions have a direct impact on the environment and society as a whole. That is why we are always looking for ways to improve our practices and contribute to a more sustainable world.
At Friato, we are thrilled to share an important piece of news about our company. We are making significant changes to our packaging to contribute to environmental preservation.
We are reducing the amount of polyethylene (PE) plastic in our packaging by adjusting its size and thickness, while maintaining the same protective barriers for our products. With this change, we are contributing to the reduction of plastic waste generation and the preservation of the environment.
This change is extremely significant, given that plastic production is a major global environmental issue. According to data from the United Nations Environment Programme, global plastic production has surpassed 400 million tons, and this figure is expected to double by 2040.
Unfortunately, a large portion of these plastics ends up polluting the environment, harming marine life and even human health, and we are very excited to do our part to help solve this problem.
In addition to reducing plastic in our packaging, we are investing in other socio-environmental initiatives, such as the "Óleo no Futuro" (Oil in the Future) Project, the use of renewable energy sources, proper waste treatment, and the preservation of natural resources.
Our commitment to socio-environmental responsibility is a core value for Friato, and we are dedicated to continuing to invest in actions that promote sustainable development and environmental preservation.
Together, we can make a difference and build a more sustainable future for everyone.
