Currywurst: Sausage with Curry Sauce and French Fries

  • 1 onion cut into thin strips
  • 1 bunch of rosemary
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 30 g of butter
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 4 tablespoons of ketchup
  • 250 ml of broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of barbecue sauce
  • 150 g of cold sausage of your choice
  • 1 teaspoon of curry (you will find it in the condiment market)
  • Frying oil
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

Mode

  1. Sauté the onion, rosemary and bay leaf in butter until the onion is golden;
  2. Add the tomato extract and stir a lot, sauté for 5 minutes;
  3. Deglaze with the broth and then add the other sauces with a pinch of curry and salt to taste;
  4. Boil for 10 minutes and then sieve;
  5. In a large frying pan fry the sausages in a little oil until golden brown;
  6. Cut into larger slices and place on a platter covered with the sauce and sprinkle the rest of the curry over the sauce;
  7. Serve hot with chips or breads;
  8. Tip: You can add
  9. ¹ / 2 teaspoon of baking soda to the sauce and then stir it for about 1 minute.
  10. Sodium bicarbonate has a basic (low) Ph that balances the acidic Ph of the ketchup, making the curry taste more pronounced.
