Taking Care of Health is also a Man's Thing!

Blue November, now it's THEIR time. November is the month of the National Campaign to Combat Prostate Cancer. It is estimated that 69,000 new cases of prostate cancer are diagnosed in Brazil each year.
However, one of the biggest problems for treatment is the medical examination, according to the Ministry of Health, men only seek a doctor when a health problem is detected in a more advanced state, which makes it difficult to treat the disease. If diagnosed early the disease has a 90% chance of cure.
According to nurse Paula Rayane de Oliveira Maia, coordinator of preventive medicine programs at Unimed Vale do Corumbá, the main risk factors for the disease are sedentary lifestyle, obesity, inadequate diet, family history and age, men over 65 years are more likely to develop the disease. Preventive exams should be performed annually with a urologist from the age of 50 or 45 on men who have a family history.
